Banff’s Three Ski Resorts: One Regional Pass Is Not One Lift-Linked Mountain
SkiBig 3 brings three resorts into a regional offer, while the actual ski day still begins at a particular mountain. Banff and Lake Louise lodging also place travelers at different pickup points. Understand that geography before treating a three-resort ticket as a continuous on-snow circuit.

Keep the three mountain names distinct
Banff and Lake Louise Tourism identifies Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Mt Norquay as separate resorts within the regional ski offer. Write the selected mountain beside each day rather than labeling the whole itinerary SkiBig 3. A common ticket can simplify purchase while leaving transport, meeting locations and operating status separate. The fact that three areas share a marketing umbrella does not create a lift connection between them. Ask the booked activity provider which exact resort it uses so the transport choice starts with a real destination rather than the regional pass name.
Separate a town address from a mountain base
Accommodation in Banff and accommodation in the Lake Louise area give different starting points for the day. The tourism authority describes multiple Banff pickup locations and selected Lake Louise stops. That means a property’s regional address is not enough to establish a shuttle outside the door. Match the lodging entrance with the current pickup point and ask how the final walk works with equipment. Do the same for the return. A convenient connection to one mountain does not prove equal convenience to all three, so compare the days you actually intend to spend at each rather than assuming a regional average.
Read the shuttle entitlement with the actual ticket
The official transport account describes ski shuttles and lift-ticket conditions. Check which product you hold and what the current operator requires to use the service. A non-skier or companion traveling for another purpose should not assume the skier’s ticket benefit automatically applies to them. Ask about reservations, stops and equipment handling for the actual journey. A shuttle is a transport service, not an extension of the ski lift timetable, so its final return needs its own place in the day. Keep any lesson or guided activity’s finish compatible with that return rather than arranging them independently.
Change mountains by changing the whole day record
If conditions or a booking lead you to choose another resort, update the destination, shuttle and activity details together. Do not board the old bus because the regional pass remains valid. Keep a small table with date, mountain, pickup point, confirmed activity and return. Its value lies in preventing a small change from leaving one stale field elsewhere in the plan. Visiting several resorts over a stay can be enjoyable without trying to move between all three within one ski day. A coherent day at one mountain often reveals more than a hurried regional collection driven only by the pass’s list of names.
Illustrative regional week
A couple plans different days at two of the three resorts while staying in Banff. Each day has its own mountain name, current shuttle stop and return. A later activity change is reflected in all fields rather than only the lift-ticket selection. The example demonstrates regional organization without promising a particular departure, ticket inclusion or travel time.

Questions that come up
Does SkiBig 3 describe one continuous ski circuit?
No. The regional offer covers three distinct resorts. Transport and the actual mountain meeting point still need to be established separately.
Does a hotel in the region guarantee pickup at its door?
No. The tourism account describes specific pickup locations. Check the applicable stop and the walk from the actual property, including the return.
